Our Mission

St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen

In the Catholic tradition and the spirit of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi, the hungry are feed
in collaboration with volunteers and donors from all faith communities.  The Kitchen provides a free, hot, nutritious meal to all our guests everyday of the year.  Staff and volunteers strive to be of assistance to others and serve with a spirit of compassion, respect, and dignity. 

Catholic Social Services

Catholic Social Services (C.S.S.), operating under the guidance of the Bishop of Scranton, is committed to fulfilling Catholic social teachings.  Founded in this Gospel Spirit of love and justice, C.S.S. addresses various needs of all people

Through comprehensive and flexible programming, C.S.S. assists in strengthening family life and in
helping individuals to reach their full potential. 

Aware of and sensitive to community changes, emerging needs, and resource challenges, C.S.S. continues its role as advocate, promoting the spirit of collaboration and responding with appropriate action on
behalf of those who are limited in power, voice, and access.

Diocese of Scranton

We the Catholic faithful of the Diocese of Scranton, in union with our Holy Father, the Pope, are called through baptism to share in the mission which Jesus Christ has entrusted to the One, Holy, Catholic and

Apostolic Church. Priests, deacons, religious and laity, under the leadership of our Bishop, cooperate to

proclaim the Gospel in accordance with the teaching of the Church to celebrate the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, for the salvation of all, and to witness by grace to the Kingdom of God so as to promote a culture of life, justice and peace.
